Track 19: Saturn - SZA
There's got to be more, got to be more...
After releasing the absolutely masterpiece that is SOS in late 2022 and dominating the airwaves and the world in 2023, SZA took a victory lap early on in 2024 with a song that might be a leftover from that album, but sounds the lead single to her next huge thing, an accomplishment in its own right.
Just what the hell was going on with the SOS sessions, anyway? How insane is it that this song that might have been cut from the 23 stellar tracks of original music that sounds like it could be a greatest hits collection if the fact that it wasn’t so conceptually air fucking tight?
I don’t know, but here’s how powerful SZA is in my book: I continue to think she’s the absolute shit despite the fact that 1) She said she doesn’t make music for Cancers and 2) Saturn is the most SAD CRAB song I have ever heard in my fucking life!
Come on SZA. You ain’t fooling nobody. And as a cancer, I’m not mat at you. I’m mad at myself. That’s how we roll.
